Many of us are partial to the “all-black-everything” look throughout the year. It’s sleek, easy to pull off, and gives us a certain sense of power when we’re strutting down the street. If your closet is comprised of a lot of black, the summer months can be frustrating. The desire to wear a head-to-toe black outfit during a sweltering summer day can be difficult to deal with, but we’re here to tell you it’s not impossible! Lovers of the dark-side rejoice, all black outfits for summer are completely wearable as long as you follow a few simple rules.
The main thing to keep in mind is to remember to choose fabrics that are light and airy. Chiffon, lace, and light cotton are great choices. Avoid high necklines and long sleeves, unless you’re going for the “Sicilian Widow” look (in which case, more power to you!) Finally, always remember to add in a few pops of color, however minor they may be to break up the heaviness of your look. In the outfit above we chose some dainty carnelian pieces to add a hint of summer to the look.
