Sikara nature fans, join Nature Nights at Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center from 6pm to 9pm every Thursday in June and July. Nature Nights is a fun exploration of plants, animals and the ecology of Central Texas. Each evening will feature an interactive presentation, a hike with experts in the field, and nature crafting for kids of all ages. This Thursday, June 27th, the topic will be insects. Mike Quinn, an entomologist, will have a brief discussion about insects found in Central Texas. He will then take the group on a walk around the center and show you plants that these insects might enjoy eating. There will also be several learning stations with live insects to examine. The Nature Nights will continue into July. On July 11th, the topic will be birds of prey. On July 18th, the topic will be about wildlife, specifically mammals in Central Texas. Finally, Nature Nights will close out on July 25th with a topic on snakes.
Sikara also enjoys the beauty of nature and we have put together a collection of our favorite nature inspired pieces from Brazil and Mexico. Go natural in your Sikara jewels.
