The Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum is a natural oasis in South Austin dedicated to the work of 20th century American sculptor Charles Umlauf.
Art Framed by Nature: The Umlauf is the perfect place for visitors of all ages to get comfortable with sculpture and enjoy the outdoors. Outside in the xeriscape garden you can walk all the way around the art. The bronze sculptures have been specially coated with wax, making them the largest “touchable” outdoor collection in Texas. Tour the garden with a docent or use a self-guided tour booklet to go through the garden with family and friends. At Umlauf children can find the pieces on their Sculpture Safari Scavenger Hunts, learn to make their own sculptures at a workshop, or watch artists sketch in the garden. Come sit and meditate, enjoying expansive views while listening to the birds and the waterfall, or simply sit for hours and savor a single sculpture.
We love how our Sikara pieces, also works of art, compliment the Umlauf sculptures.
