If you are looking for something family-friendly and fun to do this Friday and Saturday, we have just the thing for you at The Austin Urban Music Festival. This festival, located along the banks of Town Lake at Auditorium Shores, starts on Friday, March 29th and continues on Saturday, March 30th. The festival, in its eighth year, is Austin’s only music festival devoted to R&B, neo-soul and hip-hop music and provides a venue for local performers as well as top national R&B acts. The headlining act on Friday is Brandy, an R&B/pop/soul recording artist, who has sold over 8.62 million copies of her first five studio albums in the United States and over 30 million records worldwide. Other acts you can’t miss on Friday include Noel Gourdin, an R&B singer from Boston, Massachusetts. Another artist to check out is Cupid, an R&B singer from Lafayette, Louisiana, who just released his popular new single “Cupid Shuffle.” Headlining Saturday is Anthony Hamilton, an R&B singer-songwriter and record producer who has gained a lot of press lately after his breakthrough song “Freedom” was featured in the new movie Django Unchained. Other acts on Saturday include Regina Belle, a singer-songwriter who is notable for her Grammy award winning duet with Peabo Bryson, “A Whole New World.” Enjoy the spring weather and listen to some great tunes while sporting your favorite Sikara pieces!
