San Francisco, if you have not heard, the annual Silent Film Festival is taking place right now! The Silent Film Festival started this Thursday and will run until Sunday evening. The San Francisco Silent Film Festival is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the public about silent film as an art form and as a culturally valuable historical record. The festival will take place at San Francisco’s landmark movie palace built in 1922, the Castro Theatre.
Films that you can’t miss include: The Patsy, The Golden Clown, The House on Trubnaya Square, The Outlaw and His Wife, The Weavers and finally Safety Last!
Since most of these films are shot in black & white we have decided to showcase some of Sikara’s favorite black & white pieces.
