This Saturday, August 3rd, the 2nd Street District will be hosting Austin’s first White Linen Night. Inspired by New Orleans’ White Linen events, 2nd Street’s version is designed to get the community involved and outside during the dog days of summer through music, art and the spirit of giving. This will be an evening of art, music, and complementary drinks to benefit Caritas of Austin. The artists and many businesses will donate a percentage of their sales from the evening to Caritas of Austin – a non-profit organization that currently serves 20,000 homeless, working poor and documented refugees in Travis County. From 6 – 9pm, businesses and galleries will open their doors to showcase artwork and provide spaces for socializing, browsing and fun! Attendees are encouraged to wear white to the event and complementary cocktails will be provided by Titos Vodka.
